The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

NJ Update

Listening to: Game of Thrones theme, Medieval version
Reading: A Game of Thrones
Watching: Stacey, on Channel 4. ( ask about it, if curious)
Playing: Games on Toy Story Mania
Eating: Double Dutch Chocolate Muffin
Drinking: Water, and lots of it

So for all of my friends in New Jersey, I'm asking you guys to be safe as can be as the incoming hurricane arrives on Sunday. I'm coming back from Florida on Saturday now, because we changed our flight home from Sunday to then because of Irene. Now we cant have dinner at the resturaunt I wanted to eat at (a resturaunt that I specifically picked out, too).

- sighs-

I hate the weather. It sucks balls, big time.

I hate also how college begins for me on Wednesday, and I hate how also I'm going to have to probably change a day I'm supposed to hang out with a friend at Barnes and Noble (Border's RIP).

Ehh, life sucks and then you die, I suppose.

Anyway, all I ask then for you people on the side of the states that'll get hit by the storm to hunker down and stay inside as Irene comes to town. Me, I'll be hoping I can still get home while still enjoying my vacation in Orlando.

Least I have my birthday to look forward to, as well as some things in college. RVCC Golden Lion Country, here I come!

BTW Mike, you'll be shortly getting your birthday present, probably on the first or second day of class. Gimme a time and place to meet with you so you can get it.
