It has become a time where lords and ladies of all ages gather from their dwellings for a celebration. Songs sung, dances done and wares sold; such are the events of the Faire that is upon those waiting for it. Taken from wardrobes are the finest clothing and costumes, ready to be put on and shown off to the many that wish to be at the celebration.

Okay, a random intro to a new contest I am holding. Hooray, Im finally holding one since I havent done so in forever.

So, the main idea: I want those who enter to create for me... a costume. A costume that I can wear at the New York Rennaisance Faire in August. Most of my friends know that I wish to go to this when my boyfriend comes down here and am having a hard time on designing a concept to wear. That is why I ask all of you artists on dA to help me in this quest for an awesome costume.

How to do that? Simply incorperate it into the costume's design. It could be a crest on the back, a patch on the shoulder. Maybe even the idea of the image turns INTO the costume itself! Example - Perhaps the dragon theme is repeated in the colors given. (( This is merely an idea and I would rather that you put your own variation on it, should you stick with this idea). Each participant can enter up to TWO ENTRIES: No more then that.

And now, the judging and prizes!

There will be no definite first, second and third; rather, I will choose the designs I believe will make a good potential costume. This is not to say that one of them WILL be the official one however; just a design but who knows.

The three ideas I like the most will receive a sketch, a feature until the beggining of July and perhaps, the chance for me to wear the costume at the Renn. Faire. Also, if desired, instead of a sketch they may ask for an image like the idea image above; all they have to do is tell me so and what they want it of, colors, etc.

Most likely, the end date will be March 15 - 20. Since it will take time for me to make it.

EXTRA Please list where I may purchase items for the costumes if there are any! Elf ears, skirts, you name it, I want a referance from where to buy the items shown in the image.
