A lot of you are probably going to scratch your heads at this latest piece: not a drawing at all, but a photo manipulation using many stock pictures.

Did I also mention that this is my first attempt at such a picture? :3

This is a contest entry for , whose contest is to create a myth and make a picture of it. So now, let me tell you all the legend of The Newly Born....

From all over a civilization's great land comes a myth of a single creature, born of the ashes of the past and the fires of the future. Some know her as Teirah-kahn, The Newly Born, or just She-Flame. No matter what name this enigmatic beast in the guise of a mortal woman takes, her story remains the same.

She was destined to arise from the ashes of the world once it had been created, to give fire to the ones who survived the beginning. But her gift of flame was deadly as well as tempting: her molten hot touch upon stone formed volcanoes, not a man could caress her scorching skin which radiated raw inner light, and the air around her visage was too hot for any human to breathe in without their lungs breaking apart from the heat.

The gods above, seeing this beautiful but deadly creature suffer, pulled at the strings of their hearts. And so, the decision to craft her a lover was decided upon. Damien was to be his name: a fine man with ebony black hair that was only three feet from trailing the ground, electric blue eyes that shocked all who dared to look into them and the grace of an agile predatory land animal.

He came down to her one summer's eve, riding the back of a great silver and gold serpentine dragon, horns rising from above it's eyes, to where she lye: a yellow flowered field where the plants seemed to have a high tolerance to the heat her body eminated.

"My burning maiden," He announced in a voice like liquid gold and silver. "Know now that your heart's pleas have gone unheard of!"

Her wings fluttered and flapped in pure joy and happiness, rushing towards the man and embracing him tightly with lean pale arms. This place the two lovers were united until end of days was known as the Burning Lands: every sunset and sunrise, an old alter there is set ablaze by the very spirit of the flame maiden herself.

Her love for Damien burns on eternally.
